Zoë+Zuri Modern Naturals is a clean beauty brand founded in Atlanta by a mother of two, created for families who care deeply about what goes on their bodies. Established in 2020, we specialize in plant-based, non-toxic personal care made with intention, transparency, and respect for tradition.
Our products are handcrafted using clean ingredients free from parabens, harsh chemicals, and artificial fragrances. Our signature Haitian Black Castor Oil is unrefined, traditionally roasted, and sourced directly from Haiti using 100% Ricinus Communis, known for supporting healthy hair growth, nourishing the scalp, and deeply hydrating skin.

MY STORY
Zoë+Zuri Modern Naturals began with a personal experience that reshaped how I approached hair care and ingredients.
After giving birth to my first daughter, Zoë, I experienced postpartum shedding and noticeable thinning along my edges. This was new for me. I had always had long, healthy hair, but after childbirth my hair felt dry, fragile, and out of balance. At the time, I tried several popular growth oils being promoted, but nothing delivered real results.
Seeing my frustration, my husband, who is from Haiti, suggested I try authentic Haitian Black Castor Oil he had brought back from his most recent trip. He explained that growing up in Haiti, this oil was commonly used by women on their hair and body to keep hair moisturized, strong, and healthy. For generations, it was simply known as something that helped hair grow long and thick over time. He suggested that since the products I was using weren’t working, this might help restore moisture and encourage regrowth.
Out of trust and curiosity, I began using it consistently, focusing especially on my edges and dry areas. Within months, I saw visible regrowth. My edges began to fill back in, my hair felt stronger, and the dryness I had been struggling with noticeably improved.
Although there was nothing wrong with my daughter’s hair, I also began using the oil on Zoë when she was an infant, around three months old, simply to keep her hair moisturized and healthy. Her hair thrived, growing thick, strong, and long, reinforcing what I was already experiencing.
As the results continued, I shared the oil with my family. My mother and close friends, including a friend experiencing postpartum hair loss, all saw improvement. Across different ages and hair types, the results were consistent.
That experience changed how I viewed personal care. I became far more intentional about what I used on our bodies. I began reading labels, questioning ingredients, and realizing how many products marketed as “natural” contained unnecessary additives.
In 2020, after seeing firsthand results and recognizing the need for truly clean, effective alternatives, I founded Zoë+Zuri Modern Naturals in Atlanta. What began as a personal solution became a commitment to clean beauty rooted in tradition, transparency, and trust.
